I honestly have a hard time believing in conspiracy theories – political, corporate, secret societies, media-related, whatever. Maybe it’s because for a year, my video game writing job was to research conspiracy theories (as potential plot for story arcs), and during that year, I saw many, many crazy people with “beliefs” launch websites that later got passed around as “facts” in my Facebook feed.

Or maybe it’s because the world we can obviously see has enough problems (wars, political squabbling, abuse, discrimination, etc.) that I don’t have time to spend my energy on a bunch of things that might be true because a handful of people are scared of them. I only have enough energy to worry about things that I know to have basis in fact.
